Samantha Pocarello

As a child growing up in Moss Bluff and Westlake Louisiana, I would sing along to the country tunes coming over the radio...and while I was the only person to hear most of those songs at the time, it would not be too much longer before others would be treated to them as well!

I began performing in front of live audiences at the age of 10, and found myself at home in front of the crowds.  I have never really been shy about doing anything, especially when I was younger!  Everywhere I went, I was singing something, so it seemed only natural for me to sing onstage. Even if there were almost 2000 people watching, I still felt very at ease performing and entertaining them. I mention the number 2000 because that is how many were in attendance when I performed in the Rosa Hart Theatre at age 13!  Now, I perform for audiences throughout Southwest Louisiana and Southeast Texas.  My repertoire includes country, soul, pop, r&b and even jazz!

I primarily perform rhythm and blues songs currently, but I am a fan of just about every form of music.  It does not matter to me what song it is, I enjoy doing it all!  That "all" goes so far as to include some music that is not even done in the English language!  My sister and a friend used to listen to Selena as well as some other Tejano music that was sung in Spanish, so I started to get into it.  After a while, I started to learn some of the songs and began to sing them for others to enjoy.  I really do like just about any kind of music I come across, and if I hear enough of it, I learn it!

I hope to make a career out of my lifelong love of music.  I have been performing with the Zydeco Boneshakers for almost 2 years. I have also performed extensively in the Southwestern Louisiana and Southeastern Texas areas with other artists, including Classie Ballou and Big "Bad" Ike.
